Abilities
Focus
While out of combat, Ashe's critical strike chance increases by 3/6/9/12/15/18% every 3 seconds, removed after next attack. Frost Shot
While active, each of Ashe's basic attacks slow her target's movement speed. This drains mana with each attack. Volley
Ashe fires 7 arrows in a cone for 150% damage. Volley also applies Ashe's current level of Frost Shot. ( older patches ashe use to fire 9 arrows ) Hawkshot
Very nice reworked skill from the useless bounty to a scouting hawk where you can check something without putting yourself in danger Enchanted Crystal Arrow
Ashe fires a missle of ice in a straight line. If the arrow collides with an enemy Champion, it deals damage and stuns the Champion for up to 4.5 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled. In addition, surounding enemy units take damage and are slowed. -

Introduction
Introduction:
Welcome everyone. It's been a while since i updated this guide, the game has changed alot lately with new upcoming champs and reworks on ashe's ( E ) spell the hawkshot. Now season 1 has started and im still playing ashe whenever i have the chance, she is still a great carry and initiator. My goal was going to the worldcybergames but to my greatest regret Belgium can not participate on WCG. But im sure new and bigger events will come.
I also want to thank everyone already for the good comments that helped me improve this guide everyone's input i take in consideration and give other things a test ! -
Ashe starting Stats
This is how ashe is like at level 1
Hit Points 438
Mana 200
Attack Speed 0.68
Damage 46
Armor Penetration 0
Critical Chance 4%
Critical Damage 200
Armor 12.7
Magic Resist 30
Dodge 0%
Range 600 600 (+0)
Movement Speed 300 300 (+0)
And this is how i start off at level 1 with masteries and runes see the difference for yourself:
Hit Points 558 (+120) ( with Doran's blade / shield )
Mana 200 (+0)
Attack Speed 0.707 (+0.027)
Damage 58 (+11)
Ability Power 0.2 (+0.2)
Armor Penetration 35 (+35)
Dodge 0%
Critical Chance 6.18% (+2.18)
Critical Damage 210% (+10)
Armor 12.7
Magic Resist 38 (+8)
Range 600 (+0)
Movement Speed 300 (+0)
Check the difference in the ones i put in bold. They really make a difference at level 1 ! and offcourse still at the later levels :-). -
Masteries + Runes
So lets start with the masteries and runes:
Masteries: Attack 21 - Defense 9 - Utility 0
http://leaguecraft.com/masteries/3001040032331103033000000000000000000000000
Throughout my experience i have found ashe with nice attack damage can do alot more early game so that's why full in offense and the hp regen and magic resist + armor is good for the early survivability. Still you have to know what your doing with ashe to play her this way.
Runes:
Rune Tier Description Amount
Greater Quintessence of Desolation 3 +3.91 armor penetration x3
Greater Mark of Desolation 3 +1.96 armor penetration x9
Greater Seal of Clarity 3 +0.1 mana regen/5 sec. per lvl x9
Greater Glyph of Clarity 3 +0.08 mana regen/5 sec. per lv1 x9
So why these runes you might ask ?
Armor penetration works really nice on ashe and the red ones give nice armor pen !
The mana regen, offcourse because i dont go mana items, the runes are all you need ! -
My current ashe build
How i build ashe currently
As the game changes alot during time, i tend to adjust my build to the updates, new heroes and new content they put into the game. With still new gamechanges and updates i will be updating this topic on how i build my Ashe. As you will see there are many different builds in this guide and this will be my current build. You cannot stick to 1 build you have to currently adapt to the opposite team and the current money you have !
For starters i start off withDoran's Blade or
Doran's Shield + 1
Mana Potion or
Health Potion. Nowadays i even start sometimes with
Long Sword to get my
The Brutalizer faster. I check in champion select screen and try to figure out who im gonne face and by seeing against what hero im up against i go for survivability or more agressive playstyle. Mostly it's agressive :-). So for my first trip back i try to save for
Boots of Speed and
The Brutalizer or
B. F. Sword. This is mostly when i recall for the first time. Next im saving to upgrade my
B. F. Sword to
The Bloodthirster. Whenever i have this im pretty good for teamfights then i normally upgrade my
Boots of Speed to
Berserker's Greaves. From there on im good to kill creeps in jungle or to join teamfights or gank. Next i go for attack speed to go with my lifesteal i mostly buy
Recurve Bow or directly
Sword of the Divine. Like i said it's pretty team dependent. Go for the
Last Whisper when they have alot of armor and tanks. After this its again team dependent. If im having a really hard time and the have heroes like poppy, jax, ... that are easily picking me off i go
Guardian Angel first else i just go for more damage or lifesteal. I only go [item=Stark's Fervor] when noone else is getting it ! If someone is going for that i mostly upgrade to more damage [item=Black Cleaver] or
Infinity Edge.
Don't forget with the bloodthirster you gain damage by killing creeps ! If you get it early and concentrate on killing some creeps with it before the battle start you can easily get over 200 damage very early into the game making you able to kill people with volley + 2 normal attacks.
1.The Bloodthirster
2.Berserker's Greaves
2.The Brutalizer ( dependent if you have to base fast or not )
3.Sword of the Divine or
Last Whisper
4. [item=Stark's Fervor] orGuardian Angel fast ( Sometimes
Banshee's Veil
5.Infinity Edge
6.Guardian Angel or another
The Bloodthirster or
Banshee's Veil
Last item you most never get to it but in long games it can make a difference, look whatever your having a hard time with and try to counter it with an item!
The new itemYoumuu's Ghostblade isnt very good for ranged but better on melee, i still prefer the
B. F. Sword to
The Bloodthirster. ( i would like to advice you not to get the ghostblade )
-
Ashe (Twisted Treeline) 3vs3 Build
Since the 3vs3 is getting pretty fun and more played i felt i had to put a 3on3 build in here aswell because its rather different. Most people would think ashe isnt good in 3vs3 but i dont lose much with her. Only 1 game out of 40 untill now.
I start off with aElixir of Fortitude +
Vision Ward then me and my team try to get the very important lizard in middle as soon as it spawns! After that i go for [items=Berserker's Greaves] ( mostly my first recall back ) i am level 4 almost always at this point aswell. After that you have to make sure you keep kiting with ashe in every fight and save for your
The Brutalizer after this item i save for my
Last Whisper mostly the game is almost over at this point if not you should go for some high damage item and/or lifesteal item a
The Bloodthirster could be good for this.
Summoner spells i run for 3vs3 are:Ghost and
Smite
Ghost for kiting
Smite for the important buffs ( dragon, lizard, witches )
Top buffs like witches are pretty important for ashe for the movement speed for more kiting ( running in and out with volley / frost shot ) -
Early lane domination with ashe
This is how you start off laning solo middle or laning with another ally
So for starts you should have bought yourDoran's Blade or
Doran's Shield, you should have put 1 skillpoint in
Volley and don't hit any creeps yet untill you see an enemy hero. Now as ashe has a passive crit chance that builds up overtime you can start off with a 100% crit so if you
Volley + autoattack you can already take about 200-250 hp off the hero wich will give you an early advantage especially on heroes who don't have any manaregen.
This is a little example of the damage you can do withVolley and your first crit.
If you want to dominate lvl 1 really hard you should ask your team to help you get the lizard buff, The lizard spawns around 1Minute and 36Seconds if your game loaded correctly. Knowing that you have about 30 seconds at the beginning of the game to get your items and position yourself correctly. First you want to all go to the lizard as a group but run past it and hide is the brushes. Doing so will allow you for a counter-gank if the opposing team wants to organize a gank on your lizard. At roughly 1 Minute and 28Seconds if the other team does not show up you should get to position of get the elder lizard.
What does the lizard buff do to Ashe ?
Grants "Blessings of the Lizard Elder", which gives additional attack damage which increases as you level up, and a slowing effect to your basic attack.
When you are doing this most of the time you might wanne reconsider doing you masteries to 21-0-9 to have 1 extra points in the duration off buffs example: [link]http://www.leaguecraft.com/masteries/3001140032330100000000000000003140001000000[/link]
Farming with ashe:
Looking from the point where you will be soloing mid, always try to last hit and fight at your turret dont try to push too far because any ganking hero will still probably own you if you are too far out. If you find your minions beeing to far out just get the creeps in your jungle untill you can safe farm again not too far from your turret !
If you see anyong porting back to base and running to lane ( tanks ) you can ask them to tank lizard for you because you dont have hp or armor to do that untill you hit level 10 with some items. -
Laning partners
These are good laning partners that make a sick combo with ashe on their side
Janna: Janna'sEye Of The Storm makes ashe take alot of damage and bursts her physical damage even more to do insane damage/pushing on enemy's and towers.
Taric: Taric'sShatter makes your enemies weaker by lowering their armor and with his
Imbue he can just restore the damage you took from the enemy's. When taric hits level 6 he can use his
Radiance to make towers look like they werent even there for you. Making you 2 an insane push combo.
Alistar: Well easy this hero babysits you and can stun withPulverize and knock them back with
Headbutt while he keeps you alive with his
Triumphant Roar
Soraka: Well soraka is just there to farm away the creeps togheter with you making you push the lane heavily and keeping you alive with herAstral Blessing
Nidalee: Nidalee is just great you got extra dps and she can keep you alive with herPrimal Surge / Swipe when you bot hit level 6 and you stun one with your
Enchanted Crystal Arrow it's an easy kill.
Anivia: Well this is the only hero that doesnt heal you but what makes you so good is that you canFrost Shot or
Volley making anivia's
Frostbite doing double damage.
As you can see it ashe is a good hero but she is still an easy target putting her with either of these heroes doesnt make her easy at all. There are probably other good combo's but these worked out the best for me. -
Counter Builds ( Team Dependent )
Moving on to the item build
Start build:
Doran's Blade +
Mana Potion Great damage togheter with your runes, if you think you'll have a hard time you can switch your
Mana Potion with a
Health Potion but i find the mana pot more usefull, and if you feel like your needing more surviveability you could switch your
Doran's Blade to a
Doran's Shield
Moving on to your build:
I tend to build in 2 different ways:
Example 1:
So i start off withDoran's Blade +
Mana Potion or
Health Potion then i am mostly the mid solo hero but ashe works as a laning partner aswell. You just try to lasthit every minion and hit every enemy with
Frost Shot or
Volley don't waste it all tho because your not having a heavy mana pool or mana regen. Then mostly i go back first to buy
Boots of Speed +
Long Sword and go back and get money/kills for my
Last Whisper and i finish my boots after that dependent on the team im facing but in most of the matchups i feel best with
Mercury's Treads. After that just work your way to
Infinity Edge and finish your build.
Example 2:
I mostly go for the PickaxePickaxe + normal boots
Boots of Speed first and sell the Doran's
Doran's Shield whenever i have not enough gold for an item.
And from there on it's just finishing your boots into BerserkersBerserker's Greaves, Ninja Tabi's
Ninja Tabi or Mercury's
Mercury's Treads depending on what kind of team your playing +
Infinity Edgeinfinity edge whenever you can.
So vs a heavy caster/stun team:Mercury's Treads +
Infinity Edge
And vs a Physical heavy team:Ninja Tabi +
Infinity Edge
If you feel good and normal game:Berserker's Greaves +
Infinity Edge
So ill move on to a build from here on vs a caster team and a normal team:
Heavy Caster Team:
1.Mercury's Treads
2.Infinity Edge
3.Last Whisper
4.Banshee's Veil
5.Guardian Angel
6.Phantom Dancer
Most likely you will never finish 6th item but in some longer games you will.
Normal Team:
1.Berserker's Greaves
2.The Bloodthirster
3.Last Whisper
4.Infinity Edge
5.Guardian Angel
6.Phantom Dancer
The Catalyst Ashe
I just feel like i should tell something about her this way becayse alot of people play her like this and still do, i started out with ashe like this aswell so ill just help you into this if you still want to play her like this. The role ashe plays in my opinion if you build her this way is Support Ashe, what you do is spam volley and arrows and slow people that try to get always. From my experience you are not the dps in your team in the early game you only start the be the dps, the role the people expect you to play when playing ashe is mid to late game. Why is that? well you start off withCatalyst the Protector and
Boots of Swiftness so only then you can start concentrating on dps items... ur already 10 minuts into the game this way. What you have done now is increase your mana pool and surviveability. That works when you have other people that do dps, you dont want to lack dps in your team because you are going a support/survive build.
Now as you understand if you play Ashe this way, it's not bad but i don't favor it. Here goes the build up for it:
You start off withSapphire Crystal and x2
Health Potion, after that you should go back and finish your
Catalyst the Protector and start building your
Boots of Swiftness. You won't lack mana this way so if your in mid or any other lane what you wanne do is spam your volley and keep your enemy/enemy's as low as you can because you want a half hp hero that you can stun untill you reach level 6, you play her to make a build up kill. Spam
Volley hit level 6 stun enemy and finish him.
Item build:
1.Boots of Swiftness
2.Banshee's Veil
3.Last Whisper
4.Infinity Edge
5.Atma's Impaler
6.The Bloodthirster
You will most likely always be first focus so remember to be carefull and position well ! -
Champion Stats with items
Ashe vs a Caster team:

Skilling Order
So about ashe her skills and skilling order:
Volley = Really nice spell for farming or holding enemies off don't forget it scales with your base attack damage !
Frost Shot Great spell so no hero can run away from you or come close to you !
Hawkshot Im so glad they reworked this one from useless to effective spell ! Really great for scouting.
Enchanted Crystal Arrow This is the best you got nice damage, stun, range. No hero can escape if you get the hang of this arrow dont forget if heroes have banshees veil to take it away with volley and then stunning with arrow. Your arrow is good for ganking, initiating team battles or escaping.
Skilling order:
-
Summoner Abilities
Summoner Spells:
Well for sure alot will disagree im afraid but i found this the best you can have if you combine it with your skill and experience you gain in this game:
Ghost Ghost: Well i found this to be really usefull on ashe lately especially combined with
Cleanse in mid to late game this almost seems that you cant play ashe without at top elo games. When you get stunned, exhausted, slowed cleanse and ghost out and run back in. Kite as many as you can and pick off heroes that are easily targets for you.
Flash Flash: Always position your hero perfectly in teambattles so you have a save area to flash out, this is always a good summoner spell on any hero.
Cleanse Cleanse: This is not so usefull anymore since they reworked it and you cannot cleanse summoner spells anymore
[spell=Rally] Rally: Great for pushing and good for the extra attack whenever you are in a teambattle. You could also useTeleport. My favor goes for the
Flash + [spell=Rally] or
Cleanse.
So what's important here in my opinionGhost and
Flash these are the only good summoner spells on her from what i have found out !
-
Pros / Cons
Pros and Cons about Ashe
Pros: - High range
- Nice dps/ganker
- Good farmer
Cons: - Easy Target
- Bad damage on low level to minions so it takes some skill to lasthit !
- Needs expensive items -
Vision Wards
Vision Wards !!!
Well everybody knows of them almost noone buy's them.
They are so important to this game and they can also be of much help to you ! Whenever you have a spare 90gold just buy aSight Ward. I mostly get 2 pretty early and place on at dragon and on my other side it prevents me from being killed early game and that's really what you want to prevent getting killed early game.
Important places to putSight Ward ?
Their jungle: Lizard, Golem, Dragon, Baron
4 wards at those places should give you all you need to know the entire game and you really want to get them there before they start grouping up and roaming through the jungle togheter ! -
Positioning in teamfights
Ill explain a little bit about where you wanne be in teamfights
For starters early game you just wanne farm so you have yourLast Whisper up in teamfights, don't randomly use your
Flash and [spell=Rally] because you wanne have them ready in teamfights. Your
Flash is probably the most in teamfights. So entering teamfights you always wanne be the last one in the teamfights. You can stun one of their highest dps or aoe with your
Enchanted Crystal Arrow and focus the closest dps targets first. If you get focused make sure you can flash somewhere so you should always position next to a wall or bush where you can flash through or in. Repositioning in teamfights is the best thing you can do and remember always stay in the back and join the battle when its already happening. using you arrow to stun one of their dps/aoe is what really changes the battle around for you. Just make sure you got everything ready
Flash, [spell=Rally],
Enchanted Crystal Arrow. They are really needed for you and your team in the fights so know when your using them !
Teamwork for ashe
Now for working in the team, as soon as you hit level 6 and you feel you can leave your mid alone for a few minuts you should port back to base and if you feel you can leave mid alone go gank a lane else just keep farming !
As for the teambattles, you should always be the last one joining the teambattles because you got the biggest range you should be the furthest away from the enemies not in front or in the middle never ! Watch out for flashing heroes like Kassadin or stunning heroes like Malphite, try to use your Crystal Arrow to stun them and take out any other hero so you are safe.
If you get focused you should use your Flash and have taking a good position to flash out when you get focused so if they try to get you your team has time to finish them off. Always go for the enemy heroes closest to you dont try to run into a group and take out the enemy dps behind because you will fail and you will get focused then! -
Unique Skills
Unique Skills
Most unique skill is probably your ultimate The Enchanted Crystal Arrow, try to master this skill and its timing as good as possible because its very important for initiating or catching enemies that are trying to run away !
Ashe's Ultimate
I feel like i have to explain a little bit about this ulti because this is what breaks or makes Ashe in most of the games. If you really have the feeling of this game you will almost hit every arrow and that is how Ashe is supposed to be played.
Tips:
- Whenever your at mid and you feel like you can't leave your lane alone or your turret will get bashed you can just go into the fog of war and fire yourEnchanted Crystal Arrow to a lane, keep in mid it is a bit longer on the way and enemies tend to move. Warn your lane partners before you fire it so they can react when it hits. Fire it whenever they are starting to hit on a new creep wave, they are most likely not to move or walk around at the same spot encreasing your chances to hit them at their lane.
- PlaceSight Ward in their jungle at Golem / Lizard and don't forget the dragon. You can always time it with your
Enchanted Crystal Arrow to last hit any creep even Baron ! If you can master this you will be a gamechanging hero aswell.
- When you have yourLast Whisper and lizard buff you can solo the dragon from behind, just use
Volley in the fog where the dragon is and then auto-attack him. It's really good for your team to get the dragon early and as much as you can.
-Nice skillshot trick you can try to pull off from time to time !
