Soul Eater Nasus drains his foe's spiritual energy, giving him a natural 10/15/20% lifesteal.
Free Lifesteal, cant really argue with that
Siphoning Strike Nasus's next attack will deal an additional 30/50/70/90/110 damage. Siphoning Strike permanently gains 2 damage whenever it kills an enemy.
An incredibly Powerful Skill if you practice last hitting with it, also works Great with Sheen/Triforce my average is about an extra 220-270 bonus damage. also BIG WARNING back when i first stared nasus, once it came time for the teamfight Stage of the game i would forget about last hits with it and i would end up around +120 damage which was much weaker then it should be. im not saying focus on stealing kills on people. if your fighting people, use this whenever its up to deal damage its just after a teamfight once you win dont be so focus on pushing that you ignore last hitting. Once you reach the level where you can do both without effort you will be a better nasus.
Wither Nasus ages his target, slowing their movement and attack speed by 35% and reducing it further by 3/6/9/12/15% each second for 5 seconds.
A Great slow, espeically if saved for the melee carry's reducing their attack speed is quite useful, however itll be the last skill we max out either way
Spirit Fire After a brief delay, the target area becomes desecrated. Enemies in the area have their armor reduced by 20/25/30/35/40 and are dealt 20/34/48/62/76 magic damage each second
Powerful During a teamfight to have all the enemie's lose up to 40 armor, and take a decent amount of Damage
Fury of the Sands Nasus becomes empowered in the sandstorm, gaining 300/450/600 health. While the storm rages, he drains 3/4/5% of nearby enemie's health each second (240 damage max per second) and converts it into bonus attack damage.
A Great and powerful Ultimate lets him take down anyone reletivly fast, as well as becoming pretty much unkillable in a 1v1 situation
I need to update and redo my guide completely, i will when im not busy working, till then just consider this guide outdated.
(Hi This is my First guide so bear with me as i make this) Nasus is my most played champion and for good reason his incredibly powerful if used properly, well many many people absoulutly insist he is DPS in my opionion this is very wrong, hes much better suited to a tank/dps hybrid build, as he can still dish out a large amount of damage, without being fragile as all hell
This is really situation there is no one build that will set you for the rest of the game, so ill give several examples of what should be used and when
1st item: [item=Meki Pendant] turn into Chalice of Harmony(Always get this first Nasus has mana problems and this will help negate this plus, a little magic resist never hurts)
2nd Item: Boots of Speed turn into Boots of Swiftness, or Mercury's Treads if the enemy team has alot of stuns, slows, snares, or is Caster heavy
3rd item: Aegis of the Legion (only if you know for sure no one else is getting it as they dont stack as far as i know, so i dont see the point in two people running around with it)
3rd item B: Phage gives you another slow, and is a peice of your Tri-Force
4th item: Sheen and/or Phage if you get aegis, AP doesnt scale very well on Nasus, but thats not why your getting it your getting it cause it makes Shiphoning Strike hit even harder, also another peice of your Triforce
4th item (2): Finishing Trinity Force If you die and have enough get zeal if not wait for that extra 300-400g it is and finish up Tri-Force its an extremly powerful item on Nasus, the 130% base damage makes Siphoning Strike hit even harder, the slow is nice, the extra HP/Mana is great, and the movement speed is a nice little bump
5th item: (4th if you havent gotten Aegis) This is where we Vary based on what were up agaisnt if the Opposing team is Melee heavy or balanced i tend to get a Sunfire Cape, it works with your Ult dealing even more damage and the Extra HP and armor is nice too
5th item B: This is for a Caster Heavy, or Stun Heavy Team, Banshee's Veil The sheild is Very helpful in stopping CC's and the Bonus Magic resist, Hp, and mana is also very useful
6th item: (5th if you didnt get Aegis) Warden's Mail or Frozen Heart, Both are very good, in wardens mail if they hit you and get slowed, and then you pop Wither all of a sudden their attack speed and movement have been crippled horribly, same holds true for Frozen heart (minus the movement speed)but the extra mana is once again nice, frozen heart is obviously the better choice, but if your short on cash Wardens mail is a nice 2nd
6th item B: Once again if they are Caster Heavy this is your option [item=Force of Nature] Great Health Regen and that magic resist helps make the casters even more less damage dealing
7th Item?: (6th and final if u didnt get ageis)Time to get the Bane of all Melee, Thornmail if you ever see a Carry kill themself's on you youll understand why this is such a hated item by them
7th item B?: Once again, this is under the impression you have ALOT of caster's on the other team
Wit's End, why this? i did say Tank/dps Hybrid didnt i? Giving more magic resist, 40% Attack speed, and extra damage to those casters, its a great choice agaisnt them.
Total Cost: Somewhere between 11,000-14,000 gold depending on what you get
Masteries + Runes
This is All opinon wise but i usually go 0/21/9 or occasionally 0/22/8
3 Hardiness, 3 Resistance, 3 Strength of Spirit, 4 evasion, 3 Harden Skin, 4 Veteren's Scar's
3 Perservence, 1 Good hand's or ghost/teleport talent if u plan on using em, 4 Awareness,
1, Meditate or greed or back into defense for Nimbleness
Greater Mark of Desolation x9 armor pen, to help with your Dps
Greater Seal of Evasion x9 dodge is nice as so few items actually give it
Greater Glyph of Replenishment x9 You have mana problems this helps alot
Greater Quintessence of Fortitude x3 with Veteran's Scars you start with 657 Hp which is good early on
Other Good Rune Choice's
Greater Seal of Clarity Alot better mana regen then the blue's, but you sacrifice dodge for it
Greater Glyph of Warding extra magic resist never hurts, if you choose mana regen for the yellows these are a nice alternetive for the blues
Lv1: Spirit Firealot of people take Siphoning Strike first, but Spirit fire is good for keeping em back right away and lving faster then them
Lv2: Siphoning Strike: use Spirit Fire to weaken minons and last hit em with Siphoning Strike
Lv3: Wither just one rank of it for the slow
Lv4 and 5: Siphoning Strike
Lv 6: Fury of the Sands Self explanitory, your strongest move
after That your ordering should be
1st: Fury of the Sands
2nd Siphoning Strike
3rd: Spirit Fire
Ah the Biggest Preference thing in the game, everyones different, but what i usually take
Cleanse/[spell=Rally], if someone has Rally already get Flash or Exaust
Cleanse Im absoultly Addicted to cleanse, i love it, first its fun to take Ashe's Missle for a teammate and just cleanse out of it, making her powerful stun wasted, second Hi Warwick your Ultimate is now useless 3rd, your going to be tanking, and hopefully absorbing stuns, snare's Ect sometimes you may need to cleanse to pop your ult before you get killed
[spell=Rally] Great team move, but only 1 needed healing over time, and increasing everyones Damage output is very nice
Exhaust Great as a 2nd slow, and a blind to hault the dps of the other teams carry, espeically Yi, and twitch
Flash Great for jumping into Chaos when theres a fight with your Ultimate in effect escapeing some spells or turret shots if your fast enough with it, and if you need a quick Getaway great for putting some distance between you and your opponents
Spells i dont use.
Smite, Revive, Teleport, and Ignite, [spell=Fortify], and Clarity
Spells that are ok
Ghost Decent for getting back to your lane, staying on someone with your ult, and running away when things get hairy
Heal ok Early game for staying power or during the time when you get Focused down to heal right after you pop your ultimate, but really lose's alot of its power once you hit about lv 12ish.
Clairvoyance nice to use and check make sure no ones getting ready for a gank on you from the bush's and just in general to check around and help your teammates, locate their team ect.
With his Ultimate Nasus with the help of someone can take down the Dragon in Record time, same holds true for Baron, if no one else needs it, it never hurts to get the golem early game to help with your mana problems, other then that, it never hurts to kill the Wraiths or other things to power up Siphoning Strike when you can
Last hit with Siphoning Strike ALWAYS, its the majority of your DPS wither or not you go tank or dps build, as such you gotta make it as strong as possible, Spirit fire is used more for harrassing and weaking them just enough so you can last hit em with Siphoning Strike
During the Laning Phase of the game Nasus is great against almost anyone, and a decent choice for the 2v1 lane if there is a jungler on your team, he can also solo mid decently, due to Spirit Fire, and he partners with almost everyone really well, however there are a few other champions you should avoid laning with
1st Veigar, dont ever lane with him you need last hits to power up Siphoning Strike, as does he need last hits with Baleful to get AP, the 2 of you just dont mix well
2nd, Sion same as Veigar he wants last hits to power up Enraged for more HP, once again you two just dont mix well
3rd: i think it makes sense here, anyone who require's alot of farming or has special abilitys that get stronger with last hit's
How to lane with nasus
Grab Spirit Fire first, whenever they try to farm you will use it to keep em away, espeically if there is a melee in the lane most likely you will hit lv 2 before them, and then begin the process of farming Siphoning Strike
if they try to attack you
Well this works alot better against melee but if they decide to attack you, pop wither and then hit em with a Siphoning Strike if youve been farming correctly the damage and health you will steal back will make em back off or at least think twice about trying it again. I myself around lv 5ish have hit a cocky master yi for 3/4s his hp with one hit, but everything was just right i must admit, spirit fire was down reducing armor, he got Improved Exhuasted by a friend and i experimented getting sheen first too, but when he went from full hp to 1/4 by me in one hit, he didnt leave his tower, he was downright scared of me.
Working in the team
Your a Tank, when it comes time for the teamfights, try to lead the way for your allies, and when they go for you, cleanse out or anything Pop your ult, Spirit Fire in the Chaos of the fight, and Focus the biggest threats down, your survivability with the free lifesteal is outrageous, lead your team, survive and win
Pros / Cons
Pro's: Great tank, Decent damage, Incredible Survivability, Powerful slow. Armor reduction AoE
Cons: No stuns, lower Health then some other tanks (Cho'gath), slow moving, A tank requires teammates to know how to take advantage of him being a tank, if you charge in for the fight and your teammates run away your gonna die, however if they follow you will win that teamfight, as your ult will either A: if there bad they will not notice it and drop like flies B: Split apart, runing their ability to Focus Fire, or C: retreat and not do any damage because their running, and in which case you slow em and pick off straglers
Hopefully this will help you see Nasus's True Pontential as a tank/dps hybrid you put out almost as much damage as DPS will and if they Focus you down you wont die like the DPS build will, i myself love to go Nasus vs Nasus as i my tank build usually outlives the DPS build, but once again its up to you try my guide see how it works, if you prefer dps then go for it, ill stick with tank :)
