  • Abilities

    Get hit a little and keep hitting it'll just speed up your attacks.


    Undertow
    This is your main farming ability.


    Vicious Strikes
    This is your bread and butter lifesaver.


    Reckless Swing
    This is your champion killer attack.


    Ragnarok
    Pop this first / or when you feel like your going to get CC'd.


  • Introduction

    Olaf the Berserker - Plain and Simple -
    This is the plain and simple version for newbies buying Olaf the Berserker. He is a new Tank DPS champion and to be frank this is the only viable way to play him due to his spells. You could mess with a Infinity Edge, Starks build and go straight DPS but you throw vicious strikes right out of the window for viability.

  • Masteries + Runes

    Masteries:

    I run a 9/21/0 build basically get Archaic Knowledge and the typical Defensive Talents.

    Runes:

    Quints - Flat Health
    Marks - Armor Penetration
    Seal - Dodge/Crit Chance (Either works)
    Glyphs - Cooldowns

  • Summoner Abilities

    I take Exhaust and Ghost however you could use Ghost and Ignite...w/e you find more effective for your play style. Exhaust will allow you to catch someone if they have merc treads and your frozen mallet falls off for that last hit / kill strike. Ignite will kill steal and get you a little more gold.

  • Items

    Items:

    Olaf is a Tank DPS character 100% there is no other discussion about it...his build should be Tankish very Mordekaiser on TT style:

    Starting Items:

    - Ruby Crystal

    First Return / If you get ganks:

    - Boots of Speed
    - Phage

    End Result / Build Output:

    - Ninja Tabi (you want these because your items are expensive to be viable, plus your ultimate will do what merc treads would do anyway.)
    - Frozen Mallet
    - Sunfire Cape

    Those 3 are your foundation....no matter what get those 3 first....the last 3 are pretty much comp dependant of your enemy team:

    If the Enemy is heavy AP:

    -[item=Force of Nature]
    - Atma's Impaler
    - Sunfire Cape/ Randuin's Omen

    If Enemy team is heavy Physical:

    - Randuin's Omen
    - Atma's Impaler
    - Sunfire Cape

    If the enemy team is normal build and you have a good team:

    - Atma's Impaler
    - Infinity Edge
    - Last Whisper or [item=Stark's Fervor] assuming no one got it O_o

  • Skilling Order




    Skill Order:

    This is literally the hardest part because mathematically Vicious Strikes is crap compared to the other 2 which are burst. Undertow is also your farming spell throw it down a line of minions and collect gold. So it has a benefit for leveling. But to be honest I've found that Reckless Swing is your champion killer. This does just about as much as Garen's Ultimate (Yey garen is a crap champ) And does very little dmg to you it may sound bad on paper but it really isn't much ingame. You can build it back up with Vicious Strike easily. To be honest i've been rotating my skill order a lot just trying out different stuff early on.

    To be honest start with Vicious Strikes then in the next 2 levels get your Q and E so you have all 3 at your disposal. Then depending on who is against you in a lane start building up what you feel is best...so like this:

    Passive Enemy 2v2 Lane - Undertow and farm away.
    Aggressive Enemy Harassers - Vicious Strikes and keep it up hitting minions to keep lane presence.
    A Squishy on the enemy 2v2 - Reckless Swing...blow him up.
