More polished, not perfect.
That being said, this champion is loads of fun - follow my instructions and enjoy.
Perseverance Nothing too important here - but if used correctly during early game it can be very helpful. Make sure you 'rest' and activate this buff, then go into combat. Once your hit it's removed, so try to keep it as long as possible during the early stages for longer laning. Decisive Strike Your bread and butter. Level this early and harass, make sure you use this against other Garens before they open it on you; I see so many Garen's that do it too late and get silence and loose the advantage. That also means Decisive Strike is good against other champions as an opener too - since you get a silence which interrupts combat strategy for the other user, giving you more flexibility in your decisions for KB's or escapes.
Note: Get it on cooldown. The earlier you use it, the earlier you can have it later = more DPS and movement speed. But be smart, this can be a set-up finisher, as you chase the enemy down with the extra burst of movement speed and ghost (discussed later).
Courage Played Udyr, Morgana, Sivir, or other types with self-shield ability? Well this is somewhat similar, having a higher cooldown, yet, costing nothing and diminishing damage. Use this before enemy abilities or towers damage you, but set it up, don't use this rashly. Judgment Ever played Diablo II? Yes it is like the barbarian ability whirlwind - and when used with ghost it becomes an ultimate in itself. This will be discussed later on in the guide. Sorry for the D3 one:
Demacian Justice Ever played World of Warcraft? Yes it is like the warrior ability execute, except with a sudden death passive. Use this when enemies are at low health, obviously, but know the potential of its use. Know how much health you can take away with your other abilities and figure it into how much your Demacian Justice will do afterwards. (Look at my combo)
Note: It has some range so figure that into your game plan, you might let some run to set up double kills.
Masteries + Runes
Red = Crit Damage or Armor Pen.
Yellow = Dodge or Health.
Blue = Cooldown Reduction
Quint = Movement Speed
Good movement speed and damage.
21/0/9 if your risky.
21/9/0 if your risky.
1 Brawler's Gloves + 2x Health Pot
2 Avarice Blade
3 Boots of Speed
Then, depending on what the enemies have and what spec you decide, get the following boots:
Ninja Tabi Mercury's Treads Boots of Swiftness.
-------------------- That said ---------------------------
Boots of Swiftness
(Refer to Tricks Section)
Once this has been done, I like these ideas:
The Black Cleaver Trinity Force Infinity Edge
Boots of Swiftness
If it goes further:
Boots of Swiftness
Turn in Avarice Blade for Sheen and later into Trinity Force.
(Build #1) - Good general build.
(Build #2) - Very fragile. Need much experience with Garen to make this work. However, with economic power,
crit, lifesteal, this build has been my current enjoyment.
1 - Ghost + Decisive Strike + Youmuu's Ghostblade to give you tremendous speed.
2 - Boots of Swiftness, Ghost, Youmuu's Ghostblade, and Quint Runes make your
Judgment a sight to behold. Did I hear the speed buff too?
3 - Kill towers with Youmuu's Ghostblade + Courage.
Pros / Cons
- Good throughout the whole game.
- Great damage, even if you go defense.
- Easy to be effective at when played right.
- Items compliment this champion so so well.
- Can get behind easy.
- Needs either health or damage to be successful.
Great champion. Look for more updates. Enjoy
