Twitch's attacks infect the target with Deadly Venom, which deals damage each second, stacks up to 6 times, and lasts up to 6 seconds. Keeping track of how many stacks you have on your enemies is a vital part of this build.

After 1.25 seconds, Twitch becomes stealthed for 50 seconds. If Twitch attacks a unit while Stealthed, he gains 30%/47.5%/65%/82.5%/100% attack speed for up to 10 seconds, depending on how long he was stealthed before attacking. Pretty much the reason why you'd play Twitch. Where it is his biggest advantage, it's also his biggest weakness.

Slows nearby enemy champions' move speed by 30%, plus 6% per Deadly Venom they have. 2/2.6/3.2/3.8/4.4 second duration. Not the best skill you could wish for, but it's literally his only source of CC.

Deals 30/60/90/120/150 (+1.0) magic damage to each nearby poisoned enemy, plus 60 additional damage per stack of Deadly Venom applied to them. Your bread and butter skill. You do not go into battle unless this skill is ready.

Twitch's attacks become long range, passing through units, and he gains 15/25/35 Attack Damage. Lasts 12 seconds or 7 attacks. In my opinion, one of the worst ultimate in League of Legends, although others may think differently. The impairment of your auto-aim is bad, but with right positioning it can be very useful. The damage bonus, however, could be better.
Hello everyone! This is my attempt of making a guide, I hope it will be both satisfying and easy to understand. I've been playing Twitch since Closed Beta, where he was still considered one of the better ranged carries/assassins in the game. Apparently, though, because of a lot of changes to his stats and abilities, I no longer consider him viable to be played on AD. I've been playing a lot of games as him, and I've been observing him over years and have seen what sort of changes have been made to him exactly. This guide covers how to act in general as Twitch, why you should definitely consider playing him on Magic Penetration, and why he, even after all these nerfs, can still be played in a game.
We will just use the common 21/9/0, making sure to grab a little bit of extra attack speed, anything related to magic penetration and that extra bit of health from the Defense tree.
Frankly, I don't care much as for what runes you are taking. I do recommend, however, to take Greater Mark of Insight runes in red, since they offer the best chances with what we're trying to go for. As for Quintessences,
Greater Quintessence of Insight or
Greater Quintessence of Swiftness are probably best to be taken.
Basically, my starting item is almost always Amplifying Tome and a
Health Potion because I am able to take care of myself. If you feel you might have trouble staying alive with Twitch in lane, you're always free to go ahead and use a
Doran's Shield instead.
Depending on your farm and performance on lane, your next item should be Boots of Speed,
Dagger and item
Null-Magic Mantle in whatever order you deem worthy. This, of course, only counts if you will be buying
Mercury's Treads like I recommend. You are, however, allowed to go for
Sorcerer's Shoes instead if you like.
The first core item will be Malady. Without this item, this entire build will shatter. As you are aware, not only does Malady give you attack speed and ability power (which we want), but it also gives you the amazing ability to lower the enemy's magic resistance by 6 for 8 seconds, stacking up to 4 times. This means this item gives you a theoretical magic penetration of 24, adding to that our 14 from the runes if you listened, and if you went offensive, another 20 or 40.
The next core item will be Wit\'s End. What many people forget here is not only does it give you magic resistance and attack speed (which, again, we want), but it will actually deal 42 bonus magic damage per hit.
By now you should be dealing a lot of damage already, but to further make use of our magic penetration and attack speed we are going for Madred's Bloodrazor. This item is perfect for us, not only are we slowly entering late game at this point, but we will also get armor, attack speed, attack damage and 4% of the enemy health as magic damage (and boy do we like magic damage).
This would be the core build, maximizing our attack speed with the addition of Ambush, giving us additional 100% attack speed. If we still wish to make use of our magic penetration, with the penalty of having a slight over the top attack speed increase when we use aforementioned ability, you may want to grab
Ionic Spark.
In case you ever think you might be lacking survivability after Malady and
Mercury's Treads, feel free to buy a
Haunting Guise. This also provides additional magic penetration.
Other valid alternations of this could be to entirely replace Madred's Bloodrazor by
Ionic Spark or
Guinsoo's Rageblade.
The last item is completely yours to choose, although I like to go for additional survivability, meaning anything ranging from Frozen Mallet over
Guardian Angel to
Warmog's Armor. The choice is entirely yours.
This is your core build. You can do whatever you want from here, or replace the shoes if you feel lucky.

This is an alternative core build which you can use if you think Madred's Bloodrazor is too expensive.

With this build you're aimed to do the most damage. Note that I've added Wit\'s End before
Haunting Guise, but you can trade this around however you like.

In case you feel like you're doing so much damage, but often die to the enemy.

I think in our current meta, and the one before that, and in all to come, it's safe to say that this is the most important Summoner Spell to have. It equally increases your chances of surviving and getting a kill. Unless you have a very weird setup in mind, I'd strongly suggest getting this. It's also very useful for quickly getting out of range to go invisible. Surge
This is the spell I like to take. Increased attack speed and ability power? Hell fucking yes. Mind you though, make sure when to use it to not end up wasting it. Ignite
This is basically the safe version of Surge in case you think you're not good enough to use it to its full potential. It also is really helpful for ganking life-stealing champions like Olaf or Warwick. Exhaust
Not exactly what I'd recommend, but I'll be damned to say it's completely useless. It has its advantages, although I don't think it will come very handy in the way we'll play Twitch.
I cannot stress this enough, one of the most important parts about playing Twitch is knowing when to go in and fight, or when to stay out of trouble, even if it means letting your team mates die.
You are an assassin. This means you excel at doing damage, but suck at taking it. You preferably want to lane with someone that has a stun, because this enables you the possibility to easily and without any harm attack, and possibly, even kill an enemy early on. If you find yourself forced to play defensively, always make sure to aim for last hits. Be careful, however, since it is extremely hard to lasthit minions properly with Twitch, it takes a lot of concentration and training to master it. You want to have the tank on your lane if that's possible. Good partners are, for example, Alistar, Taric, Sion or Shen.
You are absolutely smashing if your position during a team fight is good, but this won't help you at all if you initiate too early. When a team fight breaks out, you will almost always go in last. This ensures that the enemy is hopefully too busy and preoccupied to immediately change his target. Do not be afraid to aid a teammate in danger if you still think you stand a chance, but are too low at health. Your magic penetration and DPS can quickly take care of any enemy as long as you are not the main target.
Pros:
- Twitch's invisibility makes up for extremely great and unexpected ganks throughout the entire game.
- His Ambush gives him a natural high attack speed, so it's very useful for on-hit effects or stacking items.
- The ratio for his Expunge is 1.0, making it great for him to grab a little ability power and generally using magic penetration.
- The general layout is aimed for a very high, similar to a nuke kind of DPS.
Cons:
- Twitch's invisibility is often easily countered by buying Oracle's Elixir or
Vision Ward which is usually hard and equally expensive to prevent.
- Although this build takes the advantage to give him some resistances while doing very high damage, he is still amongst one of the squishiest carries/assassins.
- His ultimate is not at all made for this build, he used to do much better when it still gave him attack speed.
