Perseverance Awesome passive, able to regenerate hp. Decisive Strike First priority skill that silences and damages his enemies. As well as give extra movement speed, incase of gank. Courage A shield for magic and armor resist. Helpful in team fights. Judgment 2nd main damage output; an all powerful spinning move for crowd control. Demacian Justice Demacia! Ultimate move for destruction on a single character. Should be used for enemies below 2/5 of hp.
This is my very first mini-tutorial to help players get a taste of Garen.
For this tutorial, I will talk about the basic fundamentals of Garen as a TANK.
(Please no flamers because it is my first tutorial on Leaguecraft, but I appreciate feedback for future improvements).
Pros & Cons:
Can be built as AD bruiser.
Silences his enemies for counter.
Able to escape in crowded situations.
Not first priority for enemy team.
Cannot deal a whole lot of damage.
No CC except for silence.
Mainly single target skills, except for judgment.
No actual AOE attack. Even though judgment provides AOE. (he can easily be stun, snare, etc)
Runes, Masteries. Summoner Spells. Skilling.
9x Greater Mark of Desolation
-15 Armor Pen.
9x Greater Seal of Resilience
9x Greater Glyph of Shielding
-21 Magic Resist at level 18.
3x Greater Quintessence of Fortitude
Quintessence runes can be situational. I chose HP because it helps me sustain during early games.
I mainly focus on the damage for sustainability in damaging his opponents.
I take heal and ghost.
Heal, situational skill, able to sustain in lane and help teammates or yourself in case of low in hp. As well as turret diving.
Ghost, able to run towards low hp opponents and escape from point blank range.
I don't recommend FLASH because his Q gives him enough movement speed and/or combine with Ghost.
I let you guys decide on the opponent's team.
I recommend maxing out E(Spin) & Q(Silence) & R(Ultimate).
If necessary go for W(shield) in between E & Q if opponent has sufficient suppression.
From farming to a full TANK:
Boots of Swiftness or Mercury's Treads(situational or for alot of Crowd Control coming at you)
And the rest:
[item=Force of Nature] Sunfire Cape Warmog's Armor Atma's Impaler[item=Force of Nature] Guardian Angel
But you should also keep in mind of these items:
Infinity Edge Extra Extra Extra damage.
Hexdrinker For extra magic resist.
Frozen Mallet Slowing can help enemies from escaping.
Youmuu's Ghostblade Increase attack speed, armor pen, and chase your enemies away.
These items can vary in situations and help increase damage output.
This is just the simple basis of Garen briefly explained in a mini-tutorial.
