  • Introduction

    Hi,
    I would like to present you my Guide to AD Jungle Yorick. This is my first guide, so feedback is appreciated :)

    First, I would like to say, that this guide is not for everybody. Some people may like it, some may not. For some people it might be useful, for some not. Though I love playing Jungle Yorick, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, since Jungling is a very unique play style and has special pros and cons.

    So... why Jungle Yorick? Simply because I used to suck at laning with him, lol. Then I tried jungling and yesssss, it worked ! :D
    Yorick really is an awesome AD champ, but lacks survivability. This is why I chose not to lane with him.
    If you're not a highly skilled player (or experienced with Yorick), laning might be hard with this Champ.
    Furthermore, he has decent jungling skills, mainly because of his revenants.
    He might not be that useful for jungling as Warwick or Amumu (as some of you might say), but he still is very good at it.

    I think this guide is most useful for players that are new to Yorick. But you might also like it if you are just trying out another playstyle.
    Anyways, have fun with my guide, I hope you like it. :)

    -Changed Jungleroute

  • Abilities

    Unholy Covenant
    Your Passive is the main aspect in playing Yorick. The Revenants deal nice damage and they are essential for creep farming.

    Omen of War
    In my Opinion, this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. Nice damage output, nice movement speed but the movement is everything you really need right here, use it to chase enemies but never rely on its damage unless you and this skill are highleveled. However, in late game, this totally owns everything. But don't touch it before.

    Omen of Pestilence
    This is simply delicious. Damage plus slow, this is EVERYTHING you will need.

    Omen of Famine
    Essential for jungling in the beginning. Later on, you will use this for survival.

    Omen of Death
    Decent, but difficult. I don't recommend using it on yourself, use this on a ranged carry in your team.

  • Quick Reference

    You accidently picked Yorick and don't know how to play?
    Well here is some quick reference :

    Jungle Yorick:

    Masteries : 21/0/9 with [mastery_icon=Plentiful Bounty]

    Runes : Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Seal of Warding Greater Glyph of Focus Greater Quintessence of Fortitude

    Items :

    Summoner Spells :

    Skilling Order :

    Level 1 E, then R>W>E>Q

  • Jungle Yorick Section

    Here begins the main Part of this guide, the guide to Jungle Yorick. I only put this point here for better navigation and some order through this guide.

  • Masteries + Runes [Jungle Yorick]

    For Masteries I go for either 21/9/0 or 0/21/9, whichever one you prefer. I recommend 21/0/9 though, since we will focus on damage.

    Runes
    Greater Mark of Desolationx9 This will give you a nice damage output.

    Greater Seal of Resiliencex9 Armor is essential on melee fighters

    Greater Glyph of Wardingx9 As you will see, Yorick lacks MR. This increases your survivability against mages

    Greater Quintessence of Fortitudex3 In this build, Yorick really lacks health. It is very nice to have some extra hp in the beginning, but it can also save your ass in late game.

  • Summoner Spells [Jungle Yorick]

    Best Choices :

    Smite is essential, because we are jungling. Ignite is good in every battle.

    Good Choices :

    Bad Choices :
    [spell_icon=Fortify]

    MUHAHAHAHAHA Choices :
    YOU FAIL !
    [spell_icon=Rally] trolololol
    & WHAT THE... we aren't jungling at Dominion, are we?!

  • Skilling Order [Jungle Yorick]

    At level 1 E, then R>W>E>Q (Would be nice if anyone could tell me how to use a picture here)

    As I mentioned before, our priority is NOT Omen of War. Early Game, you only need the movement speed.

    Omen of Pestilence is your harassing skill. It slows and does AoE damage which is not that low at all.

    Use Omen of Famine to fresh your HP up unless you dont have Lifesteal yet.

    Overall Skilling Order : R>W>E>Q

  • Item Build [Jungle Yorick]

    Start off with a and 3

    After your first jungle visit, grab a . This will give you enough mana to farm the enemy's jungle if they don't have a jungler. Even if they have one, you will want to pick this item because it gives you gankability too. If you pulled out a successful gank this early, be sure to buy as well.

    The next item you should be focusing on is which builds into a . You will definitely want to pick up , because it has some nice bonuses for junglers AND a FREE WARD every 3 minutes ! Holy Sh*t this is awesome. Be sure to place this whenever it's ready (I would recommend placing it at Baron/Dragon).

    Between the following steps, you should build your into . I picked those boots because of Yorick's lack of Magic Resist.

    Now it is time for our more expensive items; the order of getting them is yours to decide and should be chosen based on your current situation.

    This item is sweet. Vast mana bonus, lots of AD and MReg... nuff said. I usually buy this EVERY game.

    It gives you a very very nice armor bonus, 500 mana which means +10 AD with , and some CDR.
    With this equipped, you will be stronger than your enemies except.

    By the time you will get this item, you should already be out of the jungle, pushing lanes. Stack it up, stack it up... and see what happens in a 1v1 vs that nasty AD carry who tries to gank you.~

    So our core build should look like this :

    Usually, a game doesn't pass this point, but if it does, be sure to check out the late game items below.

    Late Game Items :

    TANKY YORICK

    Risky and expensive, but worth a try. This will deny any of your HP Problems and transform you into some kind of Offtank.
    Nevertheless, this might not work for you for various reasons. Try it out, but do not swear on it unless you have.

    [item_icon=Force of Nature]
    Just like warmogs, this will make you tanky. It's not as risky as warmogs, but this might be a waste if there are no good AP carries on the enemies side and you're already raping through them.

    It revives you, it makes you tough... Worth a try.

    If the enemy AD carry isn't just letting go of harassing you... AWESOME :D

    Awesome. But only buy it together with Warmogs, elsewise it's useless.

    MOAR AD PL0X YORICK

    Very, very nice. This is a lethal weapon in 1v1, as well as teamfights. Armor stackdown, attack speed and damage?! Yessss, sir! SOLD!

    A second
    Just in case you're not already owning enough. Get this and watch people crying. This one's for you sadistic people out there, lol.

    If there is a really, really annoying tank, take this and go annoy HIM.

    [item_icon=Madred's Bloodrazor]

    Tank-Destroyer. Nuff said.

    Wait what? MR, nice damage, spellshield AND bonus damage for missing HP?! If this item was a woman, I would totally bang her :D

    If the game just won't seem to end, sell your and replace it with one of the Late Game Items above. At this point I would prefer a mix between tanky and carry, but it's your choice.

  • Pros and Cons [Jungle Yorick]

    Pros :
    - High damage
    - Very high mana
    - High lifesteal
    - High armor and tenacity
    - 1/4 Cooldown reduction

    Cons :
    - Low magic resist
    - Very low HP

    For both cons we have fixes in our late game item suggestions. If we consider a very, very long game about 50 min+ where we can get two of those, there is a possibility to transform Yorick into a melee AD carry with 0, in words ZERO, NADA, contras. If you get both [item_icon=Force of Nature] and , you'll be a carry with about 300 AD, 200 Armor, 150 Mresist, 3400 HP, 90 HP per 5 +0.35%/s !
    That still doesn't mean that you can own everything without a thought and you are definitely not immortal, but skilled players should know how to work with that.

    CONCLUSION

    Jungle Yorick is DELICIOUS

  • Gameplay [Jungle Yorick]

    Jungle Route :

    Blue --> Wolves --> (Gank) --> Wraiths --> Red --> (Gank) --> Golems --> (Dragon)

    Be sure to play with mates you can rely on, for it makes ganking so much easier. Most people just expect you to gank without even knowing how to succesfully prepare one.

    Do this until you hit lvl 6. Now you should constantly be grabbing red and blue buffs, ganking and pushing lanes. Don't spend too much time in the jungle. By the time you hit lvl 11 you should easily solo Dragon and be building your 4th core item.
    In teamfights, use your ult either on you, or your teams AD carry, depending on the situation. Furthermore you shouldn't hesitate to use your ult in 1v1, 1v2, 1v3 on yourself, because even if you die, you might be able to grab a kill or two.... or five.
    Also, you should be farming creeps and pushing lanes the whole time. Our build is expensive, and you better do NOT rely on champion kills, because if your teammates fail, you're a free kill at late game if you haven't got tank items yet. Seriously, I did so often lose a game because my teammates were failing me in fights.

    Soon, I will implement a video on Gameplay

  • AD Lane Yorick Section

    Here begins the AD Lane Yorick Section, for those of you who can't really make friends with jungling or simply want to play Yorick at lane. There are 2 builds to choose from, so there is some more diversity in this section.
    Anyways, have fun with it :)

  • Masteries + Runes [ADL Yorick]

    For Masteries, you go 21/0/9 or 0/21/9, whichever one you prefer.

    Runes :

    x 9
    x 9
    x 9
    Greater Quintessence of Swiftness/ Greater Quintessence of Fortitude x 3

    Except the Quintessences, exactly the same Runes as for Jungle Yorick.
    As for the Quintessences, it really depends on your playstyle. I usually take HP but the bonus movement speed is also a very nice thing which you should consider. Test out what works better for you, both choices are very nice to play with.

  • Summoner Spells [ADL Yorick]

    I usually go for and /
    You might as well consider to take or , although CV should only be considered if there is no supporter in your team and you have the feeling that you will need it. Teleport is very good for laning and also backdooring if there is a Teemo in your team (like a boss).

  • Skilling Order [ADL Yorick]

    The Skilling Priority will be the same as for Jungle Yorick, but there are a few changes in order from level 1-6 :
    W-E-E-W-Q
    Then R>W>E>Q
    You will want to have both your W and E on level 2 by the time you hit lv. 6, because they are your main damage output and also your source of health during the laning phase. With both the slow and the lifesteal, you will be able to take on most enemies and if you know what you're doing, you are winning the lane.

  • Item Builds [ADL Yorick]

    Recommended Build :

    Core :

    Start off with either a [item_icon=Meki Pendant] & 2 health pots or with and 3 pots.
    Now, you should focus on building your . Once you finished it, buy a and rush for Frozen Heart.
    Next, build your into The Bloodthirster to finish our core build.
    Somewhere between these steps, build your boots into .

    Once you finished your core build, choose from these items to get on :

    Warmog's Armor
    Since Yorick really lacks HP, this item is a very nice addition to this build. However, if you are playing well, you may not need the extra HP.

    Atma's Impaler
    Only with Warmogs. Yorick lacks HP without Warmogs, thus Atmas without Warmogs is useless.

    The Black Cleaver
    This will give you some Attack Speed and a really nice passive and it is an overall awesome item. You should definitely try it out.

    [item=Force of Nature]
    MR, Movement Speed and Health Reg... you will love it.

    Guardian Angel
    Only if you are not feeding. If you are feeding, then they will just run over you and kill you twice.
    However, if you are fed, they will just surrender :'D

    [item=Stark's Fervor]
    This is very interesting. It gives you Attack Speed, some extra lifesteal and health regen. Actually, the important part is that it has AURA, which means that everyone around you is affected by it. If you have any other AD Carry in your team (I'm pretty sure you have), never ever hesitate to buy THIS because two people affected by one item is worth twice its price. Additionally, it is a very cheap item and thus built fastly.

    A second The Bloodthirster
    More Damage, please :)

    Banshee's Veil
    Skillshot-Killer. Nuff said.

    If you followed my guide, your final build could look something like this :

    [item_icon=Stark's Fervor]

    In the pros and cons section I will work with this build because it seems most balanced to me.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Trinity Force Build :

    Core :

    Start off with [item_icon=Meki Pendant] and two health pots. Then rush for . Finish your and then rush for . Last, go for your and build the boots somewhere between.

    Now choose from the following items :

    [item=Force of Nature]
    MR and health regen. I buy this very often and you should consider buying it too.

    The Bloodthirster
    You might need the lifesteal, but the main point about it is that it means 100 bonus AD when stacked, which means 250 bonus damage by Trinity Force.

    The Black Cleaver
    Same reasons as stated above.

    Warmog's Armor and Atma's Impaler
    Definitely worth considering, especially because we have more health in this build.

    Your end build could look something like this :

    [item_icon=Force of Nature]

    Again, I will use this build in the pros and cons section.

  • Pros and Cons [ADL Yorick]

    Pros :
    - High AD
    - Good Armor and Mres
    - High Mana and CDR
    - 35% Lifesteal (Recommended Build)
    - Armor Penetration

    Cons :
    - Low Health
    - Not really good Attack Speed
