Summon Voidling After casting 4 spells, Malzahar summons an uncontrollable Voidling to engage enemy units for 21 seconds. Voidlings have 200 + 50 x lvl Health and 20 + 5 x lvl Damage.
Voidlings Grow after 7 seconds (+50% Damage/Armor), and Frenzy after 14 seconds (+100% Attack Speed).
Call of the Void Malzahar opens up two portals to the void. After a short delay, they fire projectiles that deal magic damage and silence enemy champions.

Null Zone Malzahar creates a zone of negative energy which damages enemies that stand in it.
Malzahar creates a zone of negative energy for 5 seconds. The zone damages nearby enemies for 5/6/7/8/9% (+0.01%) of their max health each second (damage to Monsters is capped).
Malefic Visions Malzahar infects his target's mind with cruel visions of their demise, dealing damage each second. If the target dies while afflicted by the visions, they pass on to a nearby enemy unit and Malzahar gains mana. Malzahar's Voidlings are attracted to affected units.
Malzahar infects his target's mind, dealing 80/140/200/260/320 (+0.8) magic damage over 4 seconds.
If the target dies during this time, the visions pass to a nearby enemy and Malzahar gains 10/14/18/22/26 mana.

Nether Grasp Malzahar channels the essence of the Void to suppress his target and deal damage each second.

As my main AP champion, I have managed to develop a pretty good system for Malzahar.
No, I am not a high ELO player. But I am a good Malzahar player.
I just hope to be able to help another player who is eager to be a good Malzahar player.
I have LOL Player and once I get a chance, I will put up some clips on farming, skill sequence and other informations.
Masteries + Runes
Flash It is a MUST for not even just for Malzahar but for 90% of all the champions.
Teleport This is just something I'd prefer. I like to farm and be able to return quick for kill. Also I keep my eye on other lanes to help. It's done very well for me.
Other Useful Spells:
Ignite To help you do extra damage and decrease heals.
Ghost To give you faster mobility to run or chase.
Exhaust To help you slow down an enemy or lessen the damage of enemy AD champion.
Clairvoyance, Fortify, Cleanse, Revive are for your own preference.
Rally, Smite, Heal, Clarity are useless.
This is the skill order I use.
I like to max out Malefic Vision first since, it is good for farming, harassing, and getting your mana back.
Option 1: Doran's Ring My usual choice. Good HP, AP and Mana Regen.
Option 2: Amplifying Tome + Health Potion x 1 (I only choose this option if I was to get Mejai's Soulstealer
Option 1: Rylai's Crystal Scepter Nice HP and AP with slow. Stat off with Blasting Wand or Amplifying Tome depending on how much gold you have when you return. I get Giant's Belt last and if I am short on gold to finish the item, I sell Doran's Ring to finish this Scepter as Doran's Ring will be sold later on either way.
Option 2: Mejai's Soulstealer Only if you are confident enough to be able to stay alive and keep the stacks.
Rabadon's Deathcap Very nice increase in AP.
Rest of Items:
Void Staff I like to get this as my third item against tanks and other magic resist items.
[item=Morello's Evil Tome] Good AP and decent Mana Regen with 20% CD.
This is what my build looks like
Last slot can be anything you need for defense or more AP.
Thornmail Good against heavy melee team.
Banshee's Veil Good against AP nuker but good against anyone if they are targeting you as you have better suvivability.
Archangel's Staff I usually don't have mana trouble, so I rarely get this item but it is still good.
Rod of Ages Good AP, HP and mana.
Zhonya's Hourglass Very good AP and good for defense.
Will of the Ancients Nice SpellVemp and aura for your team.
*Always remember to buy Elixir.
Skills, Skill Sequence, and Skill Combo
For 1v1 fight,
I will use my Call of the Void first right in the middle of the enemy as it will silence them and they won't be able to use Flash or any other skill to make a quick escape.
Now I will drop Null Zone under the enemy.
I will use Malefic Visions and then Nether Grasp.
If everything goes right, they will die not being able to do anything.
Also, if you are the initiator, try to have Voidling ready since it will give you extra damage early on and also by the time you cast Nether Grasp, you will have TWO Voidlings.
For team fight,
I will use my Call of the Void to silence as many enemy as I can and then use Malefic Visions on one of the squishy champion or anyone that is closest.
Once the fight is stationary, I will drop my Null Zone under high HP enemy, as it will drain their HP down fast.
By this time, I should be able to use Call of the Void and Malefic Visions again so I will use them and then Nether Grasp one of the enemy carry or whoever is alive or closest.
Malzahar is a great farmer
At level 1, I will melee hit creeps one by one to bring them down to half HP and then use my Malefic Visions to kill them all one by one and get my mana back as it bounces off to close creep or enemy champion after each kill. Also if Voidling is summoned, it will attack anyone with Malefic Visions on to do extra damage.
Once you get Rylai's Crystal Scepter, you can kill either front or back row of creeps with [spell=Call of Void]. But I use it only when there are more than one wave of creeps.
Normally, I will use Malefic Visions and drop Null Zone in the middle for farming unless I have Blue buff then I will use everything for quick kill.
