Hello, Guys! This is my first Guide here on Leaguecraft. I play on the EU Servers. Orianna is my new favourite Champion, and I had lots of favourite ones. :)
She is incredibely fun to play, but also quite hard. But the Reward you get when playing her right, is satisfying as always.
This Build im writing down here, like the Runes and everything else is just personal Preference. I like playing her that way, and you dont have to. :)
Well then, lets dive in!
Clockwork Windup Ah, her Passive. Dont get me wrong, im not flipping out here of excitement. Its a good Passive, but I often find myself not even noticing it. In Teamfights you should attack with your Ball whenever its possible - it doesnt happen often to bring more then 1 Autoattack in. But still, nice.
(Note that this Skill alone doesnt make her an AD/AS Champion. HELL NO.Her Autoattack Range is way too short for that, and you must play with that Ball, not with your little Autoattacks.)
Command: Attack Nice Attack. Its good for farming, but not the strongest Skill ever. Its good for harassing, and positioning of your little fellow Friend. When hitting a Champion with it, try not to hit more minions because of the Damage Reduce. Command: Dissonance Ill explain some uses of this Attack (and like every other) down in the "Important Things"-Section. Its nice for fleeing, and speeding your Teammates up. The Damage is good too, but care - the Aoe is quite small - it takes some Practice to hit properly. Command: Protect A good old Shield with some Tricky Uses. Always use this when necessary. The Passive is really great too - makes your Tank tankier and your Squishy less squishy. Command: Shockwave A small Aoe Shockwave which flings Enemies near the Ball, and if they stand at the Edge, over it.Its basically a much slower, smaller and reversed Version of Gragas´ Explosive Cask .
Tricky, but when you get the Hang of it, it can turn Teamfights...when you hit enough Enemies.
Masteries + Runes
Masteries are pretty Standard for a Caster.
Note that I rather take the 4 Points into more Mana than into more Experience. Just a personal Preference tough.
Runes are also pretty standard too.
Greater Mark of Insight
Greater Seal of Resilience or Greater Seal of Replenishment
Greater Glyph of Warding or Greater Glyph of Focus
Greater Quintessence of Fortitude
I like the Armor Runes more tough. Feel free to test.
Ghost and Flash
In my Opinion, these fit her best. Also pretty standard Caster :].
If you like Exhaust or Ignite more, you can also take it.
All other Summoner Spells dont fit her in my Opinion (maybe Clarity, but you shouldnt have that much Mana Problems with my Build).
I dont know how to put this fancy Skill Chart in here, but my Personal Preference is:
Reason: You will use Q a lot, but mostly for positioning, thats why I level it last.
So I level and max E first, because it gives you and your Teammate ( if you didnt go mid of course) awesome Staying Power, while W is always useful.
So my Skill Order basically looks like this:
Which Lane should I taaaake?
SOLO: I dont recommend going a sololane with her. Shes a good Harasser, but her Use of Mana in the early Game is just too high to hold a sololane. Altough I saw one a few games ago - she did quite good, but died 2 times. If theres no one else to solo, you should take it anyway and try to play as cautious as possible - FARM a lot.
MID: A good Lane for her. I prefer playing her in a Duolane, but Mid is also a good Choice - but shes weak against some Champions, like Vladimir.
DUO: The best Thing you can do. You can support your Partner, and thats what you should do - even tough this Build shows a more aggressive Way of playing. I always try to go Duo if possible.
Items (Or the Holy Grail of Guides)
Now to the Iteeems! *clap, clap* Alright, calm down.
Remember, this is all my Opinion. It doesnt work for anyone, but it DOES work for me.
[item=Meki Pendant] + Health Potion and Mana Potion
Sapphire Crystal + Health Potion and Mana Potion
I like Meki Pendant more. The Crystal provides you with more Mana, but also leaves you with 0 Gold, and I always liked Mana Regen more than Flat Mana - I also play better with it.
When you got enough Gold, turn your [item=Meki Pendant] into a Tear of the Goddess and buy the Standard Boots Boots of Speed. The Tear provides you with enough Mana forever.
After that, look at the Game. If it runs good for you and your Team,, buy a Mejai's Soulstealer. I buy this often even if the Game doesnt run that good, because you will gain Assists literally everywhere. If you dont like it, save up for a Abyssal Scepter.
Then upgrade your Boots. Ionian Boots of Lucidity are great for her, however - if you like more Defense, go Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabi. Sorcerer's Shoes are good too, but I like the 3 others more.
After that, turn your Tear to a Archangel's Staff.
Your Item Build should look like this until now:
Your prefered Boots ( for exapmle Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Mejai's Soulstealer or at least Blasting Wand if youre ssaving up for an Abyssal.
If you saved up for the Scepter, complete it now.
Now its getting funny. Dont report me for it, but after that I always buy Guinsoo's Rageblade
WTF BBQ WHY YOU BUY THIS ITEM ON HER ARE YOU CRAZY?
Let me explain. I tried this Item out just for fun, and it WORKS. You can spam your spells now, with blue buff even more. You will keep your stacks up in a Fight forever. If you attack with an Autoattack, you attack even harder and faster, and your AP goes up too.
If you dont like it, buy a defensive Item instead. [item=Soul Shroud] is awesome on her too.
Take one of those two or another defensive Item. Pretty situational. :)
After that, buy Rabadon's Deathcap. After that the Game ends most of the time. You will have enough damage now to be VERY dangerous, which isnt obvious for an Orianna. (At least what I have seen on the other Teams].
The last Slot is open. I often buy Lich Bane, but its up to you.
Feel free to swap Guinsoo's Rageblade with any defensive Item you want. I dont like defensive items on her, because if you position yourself good enough, you shouldnt be dieing anyway.
My Item build looks like this normally then:
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Its a risky build of course. NO defensive items in it, so feel free to swap - I say it again.
There are a few things to mention about Orianna.
Her Command: Attack loses Damage if it goes trough Minions. Remember to always try to not hit that much minions if you want to harass. Position your Ball good with this Spell, but dont spam it early, if you havent your Tear already.
Her Command: Dissonance can also be used if the Ball is attached to an Ally or to yourself. So feel free to speed up your ally or yourself with this if you carry the Ball - NEVER forget that.
Her Command: Protect is tricky. The Shield is applied when the Ball arrives at that Person, so care. If the Ball is too far away, dont wait too much before sending it to your ally.
Her Command: Shockwave is really really tricky. It makes good Damage, but remember: The Enemy will be tossed in the other Way of his Position he stands in the AOE. Means : If he stands at the upper Edge, he will be tossed to the Down Edge, and so on. Remember that.
