Table of Contents

  • Abilities

    Aegis Protection
After attacking or casting spells 4 times, Pantheon will block the next normal attack that deals more than 40 damage to him

Great passive, you can easily use this 5 times a fight. Your q is on low cd, your sheild is moderately ok cd, that activates the shield alone. Remember it's not just auto attacks, not just spells, but both. It really helps with survivability in team fights and it let's you dive people rather well.

    Spear Shot
Pantheon hurls his spear at an opponent dealing 16/28/40/52/64 + 100/115/130/145/160% percent of his attack in physical damage.

This will be your main skill for this build. With a 2-3 second cool-down you can use it consistently. Good harass skill, good range, and it's a single target. Don't have to worry about the enemy team taking shots for their carry.

    Aegis of Zeonia
Pantheon leaps at the target enemy champion and deals 50/75/100/125/150 (+1 per ability power) magic damage and stuns them for 0.7/0.9/1.1/1.3/1.5 seconds. Pantheon also instantly refreshes his Aegis Protection.

This is your gap closer, use this on the enemy carry. Get the stun off on them, melt their face. It also provides you with your passive effect, which is awesome to have.

    Heartseeker Strike
Passive: Pantheon gains 100% critical strike chance against targets below 15% of their max health.

Active: Pantheon focuses and deals 5 swift strikes in front of him for 4/6/8/10/12 + 20/25/30/35/40% of his attack damage in physical damage per strike. This attack deals double damage to champions.

For my build, you won't really use this skill much sadly. It's good for farming a big minion wave, casting while an Amumu ults on you. The passive still helps a lot though, gives that extra damage on the last hit of team fights and makes getting last hits on minions so much easier.

    Grand Skyfall
Pantheon gathers his strength and then leaps high in to the air, crashing down at the target area a few seconds later. Deals up to 400/700/1000 (+1 per ability power) magic damage to units at the center (down to 33% at the edge) and slows them by 35% for 1 second.

You must learn how to use this skill. This can make or break Pantheon. Use it to cast an unfair advantage on a desirable lane if you get a chance and clearance from your lane. Use it to save turrets, use it to split push. No reason not to split push with Pantheon, use wards and go at it. When an enemy comes to defend, have your team force a fight and leap in for a 5v4 advantage. If they don't stop you, well cool. Free turrets all day.

  • Introduction

Pantheon can be a deadly force on the battle field. Here is how I play Pantheon, so far it has done well. So far since I've started playing him again, I have literally never lost my lane. Try to get middle every time, this is where Pantheon does what he does best. This is more for a carry dps type of Pantheon, using his skills in order to take out the carry, then presume and keep on fighting until the end.

  • Masteries + Runes

    Masteries:
    21/0/9

I like this set up because it gives you cool-down reduction, some extra damage, armor penetration, and it boost up your critical damage for those final hits on targets. That way it ensures that only one hit will be needed, instead of some times being 2.

    Runes:
These are the runes I've found to like the most. It gives decent armor penetration and good attack speed for that Aegis Protection and just let's you get more attacks out of your stun, before you throw another spear.
    Greater Quintessence of Desolation
    Greater Seal of Alacrity
    Greater Glyph of Alacrity
    Greater Mark of Alacrity

These are also acceptable runes. The Greater Mark of Desolation will give you bonus damage on your q and auto attacks, also if you end up using your e.
Greater Seal of Vitality Well, some times you just like to be a little bit beefier, these will help. Bonus hp at the start, that just gets better the longer you play.
Greater Glyph of Focus Cool-down is great to have for all your abilities. But your spear is already so low and you get good cool-down reduction from your Youmuu's Ghostblade and from possibly blue, that I like using the initial runes that are stated above.

  • Items

Cloth Armor and 5x Health Potion is what I like to start with. When I back I like to get
Boots of Speed and at least one Long Sword. That will build into a The Brutalizer, then later on a Youmuu's Ghostblade. Depending on how late in the game it is and how well you are doing, turn either your Boots of Speed into Mercury's Treads or your Cloth Armor into Wriggle's Lantern.

Next is the item that you love, the item that makes you a beast on the field when combined with all the rest. Trinity Force You will want to start by buying a Phage, then get either a Sheen or a Zeal. I like going the Sheen myself because of the on hit effect. That means every time you throw your Spear Shot, the next attack will be bonus damage. Which is insanely nice.

Alright, so we have all the damage items down. Like any other melee carry, you need defensive items. I like to grab Randuin's Omen or Banshee's Veil Depending on the team your facing. If it's balanced, go for the one you did not get first. If they are AP stacking teams, then go ahead and grab a [item=Force of Nature] or Quicksilver Sash depending on if you need it or not. You could also get a Wit's End if you want a little more damage.

If they are ad heavy, go for a Thornmail or a Atma's Impaler if you want a little more damage.

  • Skilling Order

This is the normal skill order I use, mainly to last hit early and play pretty passive untill level 3-4.

If you feel you want to use your Spear Shot more at the beginning to harass or so you can last hit without taking hits, feel free. But that's why I recommend 5 health pots. So you can take shots for cs and kills.

Are you going to team fight at level one or are you in a duo lane and expect a level 1 2v2 fight? Feel free to get this for the advantage over your enemies.

  • Summoner Abilities

I must strongly recommend getting both Flash and Ignite. Your Youmuu's Ghostblade will allow you to run faster then carries, mixed with your stun and possibly red buff there is no chance they can escape. That's why I don't use Ghost

You could also use Exhaust or Revive or Ghost.

Flash and Ignite always seem to be the best bet. Great for escaping, getting double gap closers, and finishing off kills that would normally escape. Also remember, flash counters flash.

  • Build Example

Basic build, used for if they have a balanced team with ability power and attack damage.
Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force
    Randuin's Omen Banshee's Veil

Used for attack damage heavy teams, you are not dying that easily and want more damage against that team.
    Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force Randuin's Omen Atma's Impaler

Used for teams that are really attack damage heavy and if you are dying easily again them.
Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force Randuin's Omen Thornmail

Used against teams that are ability power heavy, but you are not dying that easily and want some more damage.
    Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force Banshee's Veil Wit's End

Used if they have a strong ability power team.
    Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force Banshee's Veil[item=Force of Nature]

Used against a strong ability power team, but they also have a lot of stuns or suppresses that are targeting you.
Mercury's Treads Youmuu's Ghostblade Wriggle's Lantern Trinity Force Banshee's Veil Quicksilver Sash

  • Pros / Cons

Pros: Stun, poke, defensive passive that blocks hits(much better then armor), global ultimate. Good laning and farming capabilities. When he is fed he can easily 3v1 people, get's fed easily with his ultimate. He can split push and easily gank lanes.

Cons: Mainly use only two non ultimate spells. Requires team communication and team map awareness. His Ultimate may be one of the best way to get kills, if teamates can't follow up on it then you will just be wasting your time, losing exp and creep gold. Also, because of your choice as Pantheon people will not like you some times. When you try to get a solo lane(specially in ranked) people will laugh amd think you are a troll. But, show them what's up like I have.

  • Working in the team

Your main job is to take out the carries. Go for the one causing the most trouble, if you can get to them easily. If not, go for the next best target. If you are going to succeed, you must be in the heat of combat, constantly attacking their carries. Split push, you have a global ultimate. Use this to your advantage. Have them push mid, then go top or bottom. When some one comes to defend the lane you are pushing, force a 5v4 fight. This leads to a sure win if you and your team are not bad and it easily gives you a huge advantage to your team.

If you are going to use your ultimate make sure some one can depend your lane if needed. Try to get a solo lane for early level 6. When you both back, make sure your creeps have push advantage. Then ultimate on a side lane and get some kills.

  • Farming

Just try and last hit. That's why you got one point into your e early. Last hit all you can, use your spear if you need to some times. Just don't use to much mana. Do not push lanes unless you want to ultimate. If you have no jungler, take wraiths and wolves when you can. Go for buffs when you can, they can help you so much. With double buff, you can literally kill all day. Nonstop poke, good slow, Amazing gankablity. What more could you ask for?
