Irelia- Balance in all things.

Irelia Build

Table of Contents

  • Abilities

    Ionian Fervor
This keeps you from being killed as easily by Veigar, Sion, Eve, or anybody else who relies on you staying still. You'll really notice it when Veigar drops Event Horizon right where you're walking, along with Dark Matter. You'll get away in time, usually.

    Bladesurge
Our initiation and farming tool. Use this on someone to get closer, or in some cases on an enemy minion to escape. You can also use it to last hit a group of minions, and at level 5 along with items it takes out a caster minion instantly, and a melee minion after 1 auto attack.

    Hiten Style
Bread, meet butter. I usually pop this right after stunning somebody, since until that point it's useless. Provides an excellent damage boost, and makes lifesteal even better.

    Equilibrium Strike
I use this every time I attack somebody. If it's on cooldown, I'll wait an extra second or two for it to be usable. It's best if you can take a hit or two before using this, to insure your target will be stunned, but the slow is good too.

    Transcendent Blades
I don't know how many times I've gotten the last bit of damage on an escaping Yi, or saved my life with the healing from this. This ult is a godsend, and will save your life, as well as end others, more times than you can count.

  • Introduction

This is mostly suggestion based on what's worked well for me. Don't blame me if you can't do well with this build.

Start with a Long Sword and Health Potion. You can start with a Doran's Blade if you want, but I prefer the long sword.

Once you get 900 gold, or 1250 if you can manage that long, go back and build Phage and start on Mercury's Treads, starting with Boots of Speed. Keep building Trinity Force, grabbing Sheen first, starting with Amplifying Tome.

Once you finish Trinity Force, grab a Dagger and start building The Black Cleaver. After that, get a Vampiric Scepter and start on The Bloodthirster.

The game is usually approaching 40 minutes by now, and I rarely have a game go for long beyond this point. If you haven't built any survivability yet, I'd suggest a Banshee's Veil or Thornmail at this point.

Next up start on either a Hextech Revolver or Bilgewater Cutlass, then once you get enough gold finish Hextech Gunblade. Make sure you use the active on it, or else you might as well just get Guinsoo's Rageblade.

  • Skilling Order

    WQWEWRWQWEREEEQRQQ
That's the best I can give you right now for a skill build, since I don't know how to insert the skiller picture.

Max Hiten Style first, no matter what. Up until level 9, in fact, you should stick to this build exactly. The second level in Bladesurge helps a ton in farming and chasing, and I'll max it first after Hiten Style if my team is CC heavy anyways.

  • Masteries + Runes

    21/0/9

I take 21/0/9 for the boosted damage output, as well as some extra mana regen and gold/xp gain. Feel free to exchange Greed for a point in Utility mastery, though, as either one works well.

For runes, I can't give great suggestions since I've yet to fill a single page of my runebook. But, in theory, some good choices are:
Greater Seal of Force or Greater Seal of Potency
Greater Mark of Might or Greater Mark of Strength
Greater Glyph of Replenishment or Greater Glyph of Clarity
Greater Quintessence of Malice or Greater Quintessence of Furor

  • Items

  • Summoner Abilities

    Ghost and Ignite
That way you can make an easy escape when things get too hectic, as well as take down that pesky Vlad, Mundo, or Mordekaiser. Or anybody else who keeps healing back up.

Flash could work too, although I've never tried it.
Exhaust can help you chase, or shut down a Yi who's been giving you trouble.
[spell=Rally] is better left to somebody tanky, as is [spell=Fortify].
Cleanse isn't needed, since you're building Merc's and you have Ionian Fervor.
Smite is okay for junglers, but this isn't a Jungle Irelia guide, so don't take it.
Teleport can help you stop a backdoor, backdoor yourself, or save an ally in a tight situation.
Clarity can be taken if you have mana problems.
Heal. If you take this, I feel sorry for you. You're wasting a spell slot.
Revive. GET THE HELL OUT, NOW.
