This is my FIRST guide,and I'm maybe not the best Shen,but I think I'm ready to write a guide about my favorite Champ.In this Guide I'll show you how I play Shen (Build,Gameplay,Skilling Order,..) and how to survive easily with him. I know I don't speak the best english,but I hope you'll understand me =)
Your Team will love you for this! Vorpal Blade don't make the best damage,but you're tank so you don't need it. I saw about 20 Shen's playing on ap because this skill. Forget it. Always do this on the TANK minion and the focused enemy.
Your deffensive skill. Feint is nice vs Karthus,Nunu,... ulti. It blocks 250 damage on lvl 5,this could save your life. Don't use it,if you don't need it!
Your A and O! The enemy team will hate you for this! Save your teammates live,and get an assistance or kill. GODLIKE! DOn't use it,to killsteal,nobody will like you for this.
Why only Health? Beacause your Ki Strike and the enemies' runes! Nearly every DPS-maker use Armor/Magic Penetration. Health can get only penetrationed with Madreds,which you can block with some MR.
I'll try ARMOR and MR runes soon and compare it with my runes.
You can make MR Glypshs too.
MASTERIES
Get armor,MR,dodge,speed after dodge,health,damage block,minions damage block and the last mastery in the Deffensetree.
Get faster Revival,Ghost,Experience+ and the gold in the Utilitytree.
Build Example
First grab a ,get your as fast as you can than build your boots. Build a in this order : ,,. After This Buy a for better Ki Strike and some survibility. Go on with The sitiunal Builds over here.
Doran's Shield - Cheap,some health and Armor and Regen. Nice but If you want your Leviathan faster don't take this first. Con - You can't take pots with you.
Frozen Mallet - Why not? 700 Life gives high survability,And it makes you Ki Strike stronger. The Passive of this item is good to gank
Randuin's Omen - This is a upgraded Doran's Shield. Health,Regen and Armor. The 5 % CDR shouldn't be very interesting for Shen,but the slow effecte is helpfully in ganks.Don't forget to activate this Item.I would use it only against High Physical Damage,but it's at least your choice.
Sunfire Cape - One of the best choose for Shen. It gives you high Survability and nice bonus damage. I often use it as last item.
Aegis of the Legion - One of the best item for Shen. This supports your Team,and reduces the damage high. After your Stand United,Your Teammate gets attack,armor and MR. Just nice extra after the Ulti!
Leviathan - Often players say that it's situational item. But i think for Shen it's easy to get stacks,beacause your Stand United. With Ghost and Flash,you will escape easily. So you get stacks easily,but losing them is nearly impossible. Belive me,must have.
Warmog's Armor - At least 1500 Health and Some Regen.Nice item to power up your Ki Strike and get high survability. If you like it,get it one or two times.
Guardian Angel - Armor and MR is nice,but the most important thing here is the passive. With this item you will nearly never lose you stacks. Must have if you own a !
Quicksilver Sash - Many players forget this item. Please look at this item,it's very cheap,gives you high survability against Casters and Stuns,Slows,Fears etc.
[item=Force Of Nature] - One of the best items against Casters. 76 MR is awesome. The speed gives you higher survability and the passive + Regen is godlike.
FeintFeint - Shen shields himself, absorbing some damage for a few seconds.
Shen enters a defensive stance, shielding the next 50/100/150/200/250 (+0.6) damage. Lasts up to 2.5 seconds.

Shadow Dash - Shen dashes rapidly toward a target location, taunting enemy champions he encounters.
Shen rapidly dashes to a target location, taunting enemies he collides with for 0.8/1.1/1.4/1.7/2 second(s).
Shen restores 50 Energy if Shadow Dash collides with a champion.
Cost120/115/110/105/100 Energy
Range 25000
Per Level Shadow Dash gets 0.3 seconds taunt+.
Per Level Feint shields 50 damage+.
Try to count 0,3 seconds. You see it's a very small difference per level.
Feint shields 50 damage per level,thats a huge difference to 0,3 seconds.
Ignite - Good to get Kills and First Blood Heal - Nice supporting for your Team,Better chance to stay alive Revive - I saw Shen's Reviving and than use their ulti,deadly combination! Cleanse - Good vs stuns,slows,etc. Exhaust - After the Stand United you can slow your enemy to save lifes or to better kill chance
Don't take any of these
[spell=Fortify] - Let a Supporter take this. Clarity - You don't need the blue juice.
[spell=Rally] - If you take this with Shen you are dirtier than farting on a cold window and licking up the condenstation Teleport - YOur ulti is teleporting enough. Smite - You don't need to kill creeps,they have a smaller dick than you!

CONS
- With wrong runes very squishy at the beginning
- You don't get kills.
- With a egoistic team you can't be a good Shen
Zoning
Zoning is very important for every player.
To learn more about it,here is a great video:
Always use Shadow Dash vs. Katarina's,Nunu's,Karthu's (if he isnt dead) ulti! You will save more than one live.
Early Game
Try to focus one enemy for First blood,your Vorpal Blade could be usable for this.
If your enemys are too aggresive,spam your Vorpal Blade.
You should play very deffensive until you get Leviathan,because 0/0/0 is better than 1/2/0.
With LVL 4 you should try to gank sometimes,but only if you are sure you will not die.
With LVL 6 your game starts. Look at your teammates,sometimes only seconds are needed for a kill.
Mid Game
Your Feint should be LVL 5 right now. Time to get some stacks.
Help your Mid Lane partner with your Stand United as often as you can,but hold the turret on your lane too.
Don't go alone,you can get ganked easily and lose your stacks. Try to attack with this combo Shadow Dash -> Vorpal Blade -> Feint -> Autoattack. First ping the focused Enemy,so your allys knows that you will taunt him. Work as team.
Late Game/End
Now your Leviathan should be stacked 15+. Enjoy the time you get 15 % less damage. Mid push,tank the towers.
Wait til all enemys are dead,than tank the tower without minions. Always attack DDs first. Don't use your Stand United if your teammate have no problems,maybe you will need it later.
Finish them.
