  • Introduction

Edit: This is my first time writing a guide so bear with me if it’s not in the same format as the rest of the guides here. I will be covering the basics of LB and how I play her. Hopefully this gives you some ideas on her basic strategies as well as an overview of her abilities and how to build her. Obviously she is very versatile and has a lot of different uses for her abilities.

  • Abilities

    Mirror Image
When LeBlanc is brought below 40% health; she instantly becomes sheathed for half a second. When the stealth fades, she creates a mirror image that deals no damage and lasts for up to 8 seconds. This can only occur once per minute.
Great passive. Completely awesome in every way. The stealth means you can’t be targeted, and the mirror image is great at throwing people off. (Note: if you are an ally her mirror image will appear purple.)

    [spell=Sigil of Silence]
LeBlanc projects an orb towards her target; dealing 70/110/150/190/230 magic damage to her target and marking them for 3.5 seconds. If the target takes damage from one of LeBlanc’s abilities, the mark will trigger, dealing 20/40/60/80/100 magic damage and silencing the target for 2 seconds.
This is your bread and butter skill. The most consistent source of damage and arguably the most useful. The silence wrecks caster and melee alike because it affects all abilities. (Note: this also is your hardest hitting ability if you activate the mark.)

    Distortion
LeBlanc rapidly moves to a target location Dealing 85/125/165/205/245 magic damage to nearby units. In the following 3 seconds, she can activate distortion again to return to her starting location.
Another great ability. This will be the easiest way for you to activate the mark of your Sigil of Silence since you will have to be in range of Distortion to be able to cast Sigil anyways. (Note: this ability can also be used to escape similar to flash as well as allow you to do damage and get out quickly.)

    Ethereal Chains
LeBlanc flings illusionary chains towards a target location. If it hits an enemy unit, it will deal 40/65/90/115/140 magic damage and slow their movement speed by 25%. If the target remains shackled for 2 seconds the target takes another 40/65/90/115/140 magic damage and is unable to move for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.
This is a skill shot ability meaning you will have to be in Line of Sight (LOS) for it to hit a champion. This is an awesome ability for keeping people snared for a teammate to reach the target as well as doing damage to them. Remember that half of the damage only comes if they stay snared for the 2 seconds.

    Mimic
LeBlanc mimics her last ability cast. The mimicked ability deals 10/25/40% increased damage.
This is an OMG WTF PWNED ultimate. This ultimate is what sets apart the good LeBlancs from the bad ones. There are multiple uses for this ultimate such as bringing the pain with a double Sigil of Silence, double snares from Ethereal Chains, or getting 2 flashes with a double distortion. If you want the standard use of this ultimate it is to bring damage with a double sigil, the second one hitting way harder. But like I said you will have to read the situation to know what spell to copy. Sometimes it will be better to keep someone snared twice so that your team has time to get in there rather than trying to blow them up.

  • Summoner Abilities

I like to use Flash and Ignite. Flash is great for running away or for getting in range of your target to unload a full row of spells on them. Ignite is great for finishing people off and for lifesteal champions. I suppose ghost wouldn’t be a bad call but I really can’t see it being better than Flash or Ignite. Those are the two spells I feel that are best for LeBlanc all game.

  • Masteries + Runes

I like to roll with a 10/0/20 build skipping the reduction in summoner spell cooldown reduction for buffing Ignite and Flash. You may disagree with me but that is my personal preference in the matter. Really it will work well either way for you.

I use standard Caster runes. Magic pen marks, AP per level seals, and flat CD reduction Glyphs. I also like to use Flat Health Quints for extra beefiness, 97 health at lvl 1 is a big deal for anyone. You could go with magic regen. seals but I like to see more AP when I play LeBlanc.

  • Items

This is the part I know everyone looks for in a guide, so here goes.

I like to go with some very early game items first then move on to my big purchases after that.

1.) Doran’s Ring and a health pot: Pretty standard starting items for a caster. Extra health as well as some AP and MP5.
2.) Second Doran’s Ring: I grab a second ring because it’s cheap and gives you all the mana regen you will need at this point. The extra survivability and AP are nice too.
3.) Sorcerer’s Boots: if you can afford it, or Merc. Treads if they are CC heavy.
4.) Haunting Guise: Extra beefiness as well as the magic pen for squishy targets.
5.) Rylai’s Crystal Scepter: This is pretty much your core weapon. Should be the first big item you get. Also you get the max slow out of this as you are mainly a single target champ anyways with the exception being Distortion.

That is the core of my build. I rarely have games last much longer than this because of the incredible burst I can dish out to just about anyone. After this there are plenty of options too choose from.

    1.) Archangel’s Staff
    2.) Void Staff
    3.) Abyssal Scepter
    4.) Zhonya’s Ring
    5.) Banshee Veil
    6.) Guardian Angel

  • Skilling Order

This is how I prioritize my abilities. R->Q->E->W. But there is a slight variation to start. At levels 1-4 I pick up spells in this order: Q->W->Q->E. This allows me to get a silence off at level 2 and gives me a full row of spells at level 4.

  • Summary

    General Strategy:

    Levels 1-4:
This is the only part of the game where I consider LeBlanc to be somewhat week. She doesn’t have the best harassing capabilities until level 4, but when you hit level 4 you can start dropping full health champs if you hit with all your spells. For the most part, just last hit as much as possible until level 4. LeBlanc is not very good at farming minions at any point in the game and relies more on getting champion kills.

    Levels 4-6:
Now is when you will start to shine. Start off by hitting them with a sigil, then distortion in to activate it, then follow up with chains to snare them at which time Sigil should be coming off CD. When you hit level 6 this is go time for LeBlanc. Hit them with sigil then ultimate another sigil. This will silence them and prevent them from countering you. Distortion in to activate the second sigil (fist one was activated by the ultimate’s sigil) which will be giving you about 4.5 seconds of silence. By this time they will be thinking about how they need to get out of there. That is when you hit them with a chains to keep them in place. If you are Mid you might want to ignite them and then hit them with another sigil. If you are in a lane, then the snare will keep them there for your teammate to come help. Either way anyone besides Mord should be close to dying if not already dead.

    Level 6 on:
Basically the same stuff as before. Make sure you aren’t targeting the tanks and you will be dropping people extremely fast. That is also why I like to get the early magic pen items so that you are doing max damage with each spell on squishy targets and it also helps if they rush some magic resist to counter you as you will have around 50 magic pen or so.

    Closing:
I hope this has shown you the basics on how to play LeBlanc and what some of the different uses of her abilities are. Always remember that the separation of great LB’s and
